2024 WHL Wallace Memorial Event - May 18 & 19
Participant information
Civil War reenactors and living historians are invited to participate in the Wallace’s Old 11Th Illinois Regiment camping and other activities on Mansion grounds in Ottawa, Illinois. This is an even for period Civil War Federal reenactors only. Camp life and drills will be conducted on Saturday only. Sunday public interprestation will be at the museum.
Information must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event for early registration. Enter early registration, avoid the possibility of losing event benefits or bounties, if applicable. On-site sign in and Release and Indemnity Agreement form completion required for all participants.
ALL NET PROCEEDS GO TO THE RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DICKEY CEMETERY; GENERAL WALLACE’S RESTING PLACE.
Summary of reenactor amenities
Water, firewood, and facilities will be provided for all. Registrants that sign up for the deadline above, will receive bounty in the way of donations and vouchers. Not to worry, if you sign up when you arrive, you will still be able to purchase food from food vendors.
Summary of guidelines -see participation form for more detail
The principles for the event are established for western Civil War theater impressions, specifically early war before or including the Shiloh campaign, based on the historical data for the particular historical units portrayed. Local historical impressions are welcome and favored, but authenticity must be properly documented.
