2019 WHL Wallace Memorial Event - August 17 & 18

Participant information

Civil War reenactors and living historians are invited to participate in the La Salle County – Civil War: WHL Wallace in Seneca, Illinois.

Information must be submitted no later than May 1st for early registration. Enter early registration, avoid the possibility of losing event benefits or bounties, if applicable. On-site sign in and Release and Indemnity Agreement form completion required for all participants.

ALL NET PROCEEDS GO TO THE RESTORATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE DICKEY CEMETERY; GENERAL WALLACE’S RESTING PLACE.

Summary of reenactor amenities 

Water, firewood, and facilities will be provided for all. Registrants that sign up for the deadline above, will receive firewood, straw, and bounty, as well as Sunday breakfast. Not to worry, if you sign up when you arrive, you will still be able to purchase straw and food from food vendors.

Summary of guidelines -see participation form for more detail 

The principles for the event are established for western Civil War theater impressions, specifically the Nashville or Atlanta campaign, based on the historical data for the particular historical units portrayed. Local historical impressions are welcome and favored, but authenticity must be properly documented.

10:00 am - Civil War Encampment Opens to the Public

10:00 am - Morning Parade & Drill

1:30 pm - Formation of Brigades

2 pm – Battle

7:30 pm – Night fire

 Sunday, August 18, 2019

9:00 am – Breakfast with the soldiers (complimentary for reenactors)

9:00 am - Civil War Encampment Open to Public

10:00 am - Morning Nondenominational Church Service for Soldiers & Public

11:00 am - Morning Parade & Drill

11:30 am - Formation of Brigades

12:00 pm – Battle

1:00 pm – Camp Disbands – Event Concluded
